After 5 years I had my first issue with my ryobi EV riding mower..

Main relay went bad. 79.00$ on Ryobis website. tech support was amazing and all the repair manuals were right there..

Unlike my old gas riding mowers this thing has been great, zero maintenance for 5 years, now I do not need to winterize, change oil etc etc.

And runs just as good at 32 degrees as it does at 100 degrees.

All you have to do is plug it in when not in use. and every once in a while clean it with the power washer..

I use this thing all year round, it mows my lawn and next door neighbors as well as a few other neighbors' lawns. I got the bagger for it to pick up all the leaves in the fall and now am getting the front blade to plow the snow in the driveway.

I've used it with an old craftsman trailer to haul tons of stuff, the biggest being a small block chevy 350 complete. I have even used it to pull a 1995 Yukon around the yard while I was rebuilding it..

It is a real work horse and at just 2K brand new one of the best things I have purchased..

I'm guessing the batteries will need to be replaced in the next few years, most people say 5-6, but I tested each one and they are still above 90% capacity (about 15 miles of mowing). But when I do it will well be worthwhile..

**************UPDATE*************

Tech support was not so great after all... And the tch manuals were incomplete...

I purchased a 79$ relay because tech support and myself based on the wiring diagrams and other material available narrowed it down to "it could be nothing else"...

Turns out... there is a 2 amp fuse inline between the 12v buck regulator and the relay... a 2amp fuse that is NOT in the wiring diagram nor mentioned anywhere in the manuals.. PLUS the relay has stamped right on it's coil, 2 amp 12 volt draw..... So, sure the 2amp fuse worked for a while but eventually being run at it's burnout point long enough, it weakened and blew.....

So I spent 79$ on a relay. Tech support said, thank you for pointing out the mistake in the manuals.. No, there are no refunds or returns accepted....

So I basically paid 79$ for a part I didn't need and helped the corporation fix a manual for free... Oh well, life in 'Merica....

BTW the 48v to 12v buck puts out up to 12 amps, so I replaced the 2 amp fuse with a 10amp fuse...

I'm thinking of doing a how to video on the entire electrical system on the mower for youtube, maybe make back some of that 79$....

No video exists.
