Question: I’m a convicted felon. Could I join the army (Marines)?
And no, you cannot join either one. The Department of Defense will not allow ex-felons to enlist for military service.
NOTE: The Department of Defense DID offer “moral waivers” for ex-felon enlistees during a low point in recruiting from 2003 until 2009. However, the terms were so stringent that the majority of applicants were not allowed to enlist and many of those who did were unable to meet the terms of their enlistment.
