IT's ridiculous. But unfortunately true. In our culture the comedians tell more truth then the media.
Hat's off to the late great George Carlin, who had a comedic anger based solely in the ridiculousness of our culture, politics and society. His words have awaking more people then almost any other on a broader range of topics that are more serious then most others.
Lewis Black, who holds back nothing, tells it exactly how it is and never fails to point out the stupidity of the average citizen, and just how the media and politicians distract us from whats is important.
These "entertainers" have given us a lesson in each performance, while most choose to ignore the ever so important point of each "act" there are a few who of us who use their words to teach others.
We all laugh after they speak, because what they have said appears so ludicrous to us. But a few people walk away and realize while it seems ridiculous it is actually the way things are.
Open your ears, your brains and comprehend what is going on, how long it has gone on for and what the real solutions are. (First figure out the difference between a real issue and a distraction issue).
A football player doing something, anything is not an issue, it is a distraction, because while you were wasting time worrying about him sitting down during a song, you missed his point. While you were discussing the Olympic medalist who didn't cover their heart your government was out killing kids and mothers and brothers of people in foreign lands on your dime, in your name with your consent. (Only later to label them as terrorists in order to continue to terrorize those people, all for corporate profits).
We must take back our government, we must employ our will on our leaders, we must show them that we are not happy with what they have done with the power we have given them. And we must stop this republican verses democratic nonsense. They are both on the same side, and that side is not ours!!
When you say voting for an independant is worthless, you are saying, "I give up and have no chance to provide a better future for my kids and thier kids, because my parents and grand parents let things go to far without voting independant to show them we are unhappy."
You have no clue. every single vote for any independent candidate (especially the presidency) sends a clear and concise message that the two controlling parties are losing the support of the people, even if it is one person at a time. Your choice for president does not need to win the election, your vote will put one more citizen against the establishment and force it to change.
This is how it works, our independence was not won in a single action, it was won by hundreds of actions, most of which ended in failure. But when combined they won us the abilities to make a better life for ourselves and our descendants. It was not the majority of people who supported the revolution in the beginning, it's historical fact that the majority of the population thought it was ridiculous and impossible. When it was laid out on paper it truely was ridiculous and impossible. We should not have been able to win our freedom! But we did. And we can do it again, it starts with voting, not for who we think can win, but for who we think SHOULD win, even if they do not have a chance to win, because, that is how America was made, and that is what makes America the greatest country on earth! We do the impossible, with next to nothing and we get the job done! We are Americans!
