Bray Wyatt, whose real name is Windham Lawrence Rotunda, was an American professional wrestler. He was born on May 23, 1987, in Brooksville, Florida. He was best known for his time in WWE, where he performed under the ring name Bray Wyatt and later “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. He was a third-generation professional wrestler, following in the footsteps of his grandfather Blackjack Mulligan, his father Mike Rotunda, and two of his uncles, Barry and Kendall Windham.
Wyatt signed with WWE in 2009 and was assigned to its developmental territories. In 2010, he debuted in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) under the ring name Alex Rotundo. He later changed his name to Duke Rotundo and formed a tag team with his brother Bo Dallas. In 2012, he debuted a new character, Bray Wyatt, who led a cult-like stable known as The Wyatt Family. The stable also included wrestlers Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.
Wyatt made his main roster debut in 2013 and feuded with several top stars, including John Cena, Roman Reigns, and The Undertaker. He won the WWE Championship in 2017 and later introduced a new character, “The Fiend,” which became one of the most popular characters in WWE.
Wyatt was released from WWE in 2021. He passed away on September 4, 2023 at the age of 36. The cause of death has not been publicly disclosed. However, per TMZ, Bray Wyatt‘s girlfriend found out his alarm was going off an hour later, and it didn’t stop. It was discovered that the WWE superstar was lying on his bed, turning blue with no signs of breathing. His girlfriend dialled 911 and even his mother tried CPR on him, but there was no response. When taken to the hospital, Wyatt was announced dead.
It is also learned that after COVID, the lower part of Bray Wyatt’s heart had become weak and he was hospitalized a week before his death. Wyatt was advised to wear an external heart defibrillator by doctors, which helps treat people with chances of sudden cardiac arrest. It is reported that Wyatt wasn’t wearing the device during his nap and it was discovered in his vehicle later on.
Wyatt was married to Samantha Rotunda from 2012 to 2017. They had two daughters together. After their divorce, he began dating ring announcer JoJo Offerman and they had two children together.
