Lesson of the Day: Courage
Courage is one of those emotions that, when you use it, almost everything gets better. What usually stops us from doing something? Fear.
And here’s the truth: Without fear, there is no need for courage. Courage only exists because something inside you is screaming don’t do it.
So courage isn’t being fearless. Courage means you’re scared shitless — but you do it anyway.
What people misunderstand about courage
Courage doesn’t feel good in the moment. It feels like your stomach dropping, your pulse spiking, your mind racing. It feels like “I’m scared shitless but I’m doing it anyway.”
That’s courage in its purest form.
Why courage transforms you
When you act through fear, you gain:
- Proof that you can handle more than you thought
- Momentum that fear can’t stop
- Identity shift — you become someone who does hard things
- Respect from others, but more importantly, from yourself
Fear shrinks life. Courage expands it.
